Business students win marketing award

Twelve Washington College students recently received the 1999 Guy Yolton Award for Creative Direct Mail for their participation in the Direct Marketing Association of Washington Educational Foundation’s Collegiate Maxi competition. The award recognizes teams of students who submit outstanding marketing plans and direct mail packages to the DMAWEF contest held each spring.

Three teams of four students each devised marketing campaign packages for a banking service directed at college students. Remarkably, all three Washington College teams tied for the award.

The teams, advised by Professor Terry Scout, included current students Rebecca Corbin, Matt Hanifee, Christyl Johnson-Arrabal, and Brian McNew and 1999 graduates Kari Durham, C.J. Norton, Diane Zeng, Heather Pyzik, Katie Warwick, Kimberly Hardesty, Noelle Living, and Stacy Larkin. •
