Katie
Bierzonski is a senior from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, majoring in economics
with a dual minor in business and psychology. Katie is a Dean's List student
and a member of the Investment Club, Spanish Club, Computer Club and Psychology
Club. She has also been a weekly contributor to the school paper, The
Elm, for three years. Katie is a member of the Silver Pentagon Society,
the SGA Student Academic Board, the Society of Junior Fellows, the Psi
Chi Psychology Honors Society and the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She is
a charter member and treasurer of the ODE Economics Honors Society. She
was named to the Maryland Association of Directors of Athletics Academic
Honor Roll. Her other activities on campus include serving as a Peer Advisor
for new students and a business, economics and psychology peer tutor.
As fundraising chair of Alpha Chi Omega, Katie organized a Casino Night
benefit at Washington College to raise money for local shelters for battered
women and children. This December she organized a Christmas party for
underprivileged children. Katie is also two-year captain of both the varsity
volleyball and varsity basketball teams, and was given All-Conference
Honorable Mention in both sports as well as the Volleyball Most Valuable
Player. This season, Katie leads the volleyball team in all categories;
she led the basketball team in scoring, rebounding and steals last year.
Her career plans are in the field of industrial and oganizational psychology.
Katie plans to get some sleep after graduation.
